At the end of last year, we were so excited to collaborate with Paul Madonna on our fall seasonal espresso, Sweater Weather. At the time, Eileen and Paul planned to launch the espresso with an exhibition and book signing. But unfortunately, Paul was in a terrible hit-and-run accident. He has since recovered and you can read about his progress in his interview with the Nob Hill Gazette here.
Paul Madonna is an award-winning artist and author known for combining drawing and stories in a wide range of genres, from his enigmatic art series All Over Coffee which ran for twelve years in the San Francisco Chronicle, to his large-scale public murals, to his entertaining and sharply-plotted mystery novels. Celebrated internationally in museums as well as in print, Paul’s unique blend of drawing and storytelling has been heralded as an “all new art form.” Paul’s current release, The Commissions, a riveting mystery set between San Francisco and Amsterdam, is available in hardback on September 5th.
Now more than ever, we are excited to welcome Paul back to our Valencia café for his first show at Ritual since 2014. He will be launching his new novel, The Commissions, and a book signing on Friday, September 15, from 7–9:30pm.
We will have music by Ez & The Bz and beverages by our friends at Ceybon!
In case you can’t make the party, Paul’s art will be exhibited at the flagship café from September 2 to October 12 and his books will be available to purchase as well.
