How long have you been working in coffee?
As long as I have been at Ritual, so a little over 1 year.
What is your favorite thing about working at Ritual?
My coworkers who are so kind and hardworking!
What’s your favorite drink?
My favorite drink is the good old latte! The drink that introduced me to specialty coffee was an iced almond milk latte and when I tried it for the first time I was shocked that my coffee didn’t taste strong or bitter like I expected. It was tasty and smooth and has sucked me into a world where all kinds of coffee drinks taste amazing!
What’s your favorite coffee shop when you’re out of the Bay Area?
I lived in Chico for a bit, so I used to go to a coffee truck there that has now moved into an art gallery called Equilateral Coffee. They also have creative seasonal homemade syrups year-round and are family-run.
What’s your first coffee memory?
My first coffee memory is with my family. We drink a lot of instant coffee together along with pan dulce, so even though I enjoy my coffee differently now, it’s funny to look back and realize that coffee was around when I was younger.
What are your non-coffee interests?
I have recently taken an interest in trying different kinds of exercising. I took on running for a while, and recently I’ve learned how to swim! It has been amazing to see my progress and realize the limits that the body can surpass! I love to take nature walks, travel, and ultimately anything that makes me feel connected to the earth and humanity itself.
