Café Spotlight: Cinderella Bakery, San Francisco

Opened in 1953, San Francisco’s legendary Russian bakery prepares food from time-honored recipes handed down through generations: Piroshki, Pelmeni (Siberian meat-filled dumplings), various delectable pastries, Russian breads, and entrees like Borscht and Chicken Kyiv!

Owners Mike and Marika Fishman have created a wonderful space where you’ll love to linger, Marika telling us that her inspiration for the coffee service at Cinderella was simple yet vital: “We wanted to offer a local high-quality brand of coffee to our customers and to the neighborhood. Also, Ritual provides us great customer service.”

What is your favorite part of owning your own business, Marika?

“It’s always exciting!”

And the most surprising thing?

“Having to repair things all the time by myself.”
