About our Hayes Valley Café
“The Container” is how we usually refer to this tiny coffee box with outsized pizazz and personality. It exists in Hayes Valley, but wasn’t really designed to be a forever thing. Against the odds, the Container has evolved into an indelible part of the neighborhood landscape – on land that used to be a freeway offramp.
Our shipping container is a part of a larger project called PROXY, which they describe as a “temporary two-block project which seeks to mobilize a flexible environment of food, art, culture, and retail within renovated shipping containers.” It’s a fabulous spot to stop by if you’re on two wheels. Viva the Container!
