Proyecto Recolectores: Familia Montano, Colombia

Price range: $25.00 through $150.00

In the 1930s, José Montano started growing coffee in the Huila region of Colombia.

Over generations, the family Montano has perfected their coffee crop – with each member working together as a tight-knit group to grow and process this excellent offering. This coffee is sweet and balanced with notes of fruit and cinnamon.

This particular lot, Proyecto Recolectores, is named for the Azahar Project Manos Al Grano, their non-profit that legally employs coffee pickers – a rarity in many coffee growing regions. By providing legal wages, they help to move the industry forward – creating stability and sustainability throughout many aspects of the coffee supply chain.

Proyecto Recolectores: Manos al Grano

We’re excited to promote the amazing work of our Colombian exporter, Azahar and their non-profit Manos al Grano with this season’s offering of Recolectores. Coffee companies don’t often mention the role of exporters and pay along the supply chain, so this is an opportunity to talk about where your coffee really comes from - and the work that Manos al Grano is doing to make their coffee more fair, sustainable, and higher quality.
