By the time Ritual started buying coffee from Nelson Ramirez, fifteen years ago, he was already known among his neighbors as a leader in coffee farming. Nelson is a talented agronomist who focuses not only on quality but also the environmental impacts of growing coffee. Year after year we have seen Nelson improve the infrastructure of his farm to include new drying beds, new processing equipment including tile lined tanks and channels, made famous by Kenyan coffee factories for improving quality and saving water, to wash his coffee. Each investment he has made creates a higher quality coffee each year, and this year we are proud to release this special reserve lot, separated from the rest to highlight its stellar quality.
