Decaf El Chuape, Perú
Price range: $26.25 through $157.50
When the time is right for coffee but you could do without the added buzz, this is just the ticket.
Grown in the San Ignacio region of Cajamarca, El Chuape is a coffee grown by smallholder producers near the Perales Huancaruna Cooperative, which works to improve living conditions for farmers and ensure sustainability in coffee growing practices. El Chuape is a water-processed decaf, where caffeine is removed by soaking the green coffee in a water-based solution, dried and sorted for quality. The water is reused wherever possible, helping to grow their overall environmental sustainability.
This offering is roasted in a manner that makes it perfect for drip coffee preparations as well as wonderfully rich espresso.
